Anelia Shaheed is a Partner with the Law Offices of Julie W. Allison P.A. Joining the firm in January of 2015, with 7 years’ experience as a healthcare attorney, Ms. Shaheed brings a variety of skills and experience in the managed care, insurance reimbursement, health care regulation and compliance, provider risk management and other areas involving healthcare providers and insureds.
Ms. Shaheed attended the University of London for her undergraduate studies, where she received her LLB or Bachelor of Law Degree in August 2007. Subsequently, Ms. Shaheed was admitted to Nova Southeastern University’s Law Program where she graduated Cum Lade in July of 2012. During law school she was an active member of the Moot Court Society and presented at the International Caribbean Court of Justice. Subsequently Ms. Shaheed was admitted to the Florida Bar in April of 2013. She is currently a member of American Bar Association as well as the National Health Lawyers Association.
Ms. Shaheed has successfully litigated against major health insurers under issues relating to improper audits, ERISA claim denials, improper claims processing requirements and other similar issues that affect reimbursement for providers. Additionally, she has been involved in government lobbying and statutory interpretation for relevant health care statutes pertaining to licensure and treatment services.
