Melissa Sahlin is a Licensed Independent Social Worker with a supervision designation in Ohio and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Virginia. She earned a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Cincinnati. As part of her MSW program, Melissa completed specialized courses and an internship focused on social work administration. As a Social Worker, Melissa has worked with individuals, families, and groups in a variety of settings including outpatient addiction treatment, inpatient psychiatric care, jail-based counseling programs, school-based mental health services, and medical social work in multiple hospitals and home healthcare settings. She has enjoyed helping people seek healthier and happier lives by making changes through a strengths-based approach. Melissa has been with BrightView since February 2016, during which time, she has served in a variety of roles, including guiding and leading the work of clinical supervisors, counselors, case managers, and peer recovery supporters who provide care to individuals with Substance Use Disorder (SUD). She has been closely involved with program design and development for both in person services and distance counseling. She has helped to develop a set of quality metrics to monitor patient outcomes and within that data set incorporated feedback loops regarding care provided virtually.
