Andrew “Shovell” Lovell” Dip. Couns is a Psychotherapeutic counsellor, Sound therapist, Craniosacral Therapist, and Somatic Experience practitioner.
He has been in private practice since 2010 and has been working with children and adolescents since 2020, as a Psychotherapeutic counsellor.
Alongside his private practice, Andrew works with National Health Service (N.H.S) in his specialist areas of - CPTSD, grief, addictions, domestic violence, depression, anxiety, and abuse.
In 2020 Andrew co-founded AjoiA a transmedia therapeutic storytelling platform whose mission is to support mental health issues through accessible music, sound and art based interventions.
In 1996 Andrew became a Patron for the Centre Point charity- a young people's homeless centre. He is also an ambassador for “A DJ Saved My Life” foundation.
In 2008 he founded “Universal Rhythm” an organisation dedicated to releasing hidden potential through drum workshops, working with homeless centres, troubled youth programmes, prisons, schools, corporate companies, and Buddhist groups.
He also represented the “Kick It Out” independent charity campaign against racism and inequality in many sporting venues.
He is best known for being the percussionist and member of multi-platinum and award-winning band M People. Andrew has also performed with artists such as Sting, The Chemical Brothers, Soul II Soul, and Dame Evelyn Glennie as well as being a tv and radio presenter for the BBC.
